Sweet Stolen Moments

i am beginning to sense a shift toward the terrible threes with my little bean....so this was an increasingly rare moment of sweetness happening that i could not resist documenting! her very favorite word now is without a doubt the word “NO!”, said loudly and with emphasis, if not with a bit of anger and resentment! She wants to do EVERYTHING herself....and i mean EVERYTHING! Getting out of the house in a timely fashion is no longer an option unless you begin about 2 hours ahead of schedule! Just getting her to put on her underwear can take half an hour and i for one, am done chasing her around and wrestling her like a gator at Gatorland! i am not above bribery at this point...or i will simply walk away and say “let me know if you need any help....i will be...(fill in the blank)”. Without the attention, she usually decides that she needs help, but not before she has both legs in one hole and is trying to walk with them that way to have me fix them. All it takes is a screwed up face from me and she will dissolve in a fit of laughter, and then let me help. More often then not it is on purpose, as she has been really good at getting herself dressed for almost a year now!
The whole potty training thing was over and done in one weekend....and in the 2 weeks she was here she had one accident and one “on purpose”....the accident was pee....and she was outside....no biggie! The “on purpose” was when i was not home. Her mama was here, and Aunt Tida (Kiera), and they were not paying much attention to her, as they worked on getting some lunch and taking care of Noah. The house is only 4 rooms and a bathroom....you can see into the living room from the kitchen....
She came strolling out of the living room where she was watching some PBS kids show, butt naked, looked up at them and said, simply, “poop”. My daughter asked her if she had to go poop and she said yes. She said, "oh, good...let’s go to the potty!” Lileigh said no, and pointed to the living room. “Lileigh Grace....you HAVE to go, or you ALREADY went?” She replied, “GO POOP!” and pointed again. To my daughter’s complete horror, she had removed her clothes in the corner of the room and pooped on a turquoise patent leather chair in the corner!!!!! Kiera was convulsing with laughter......her mama was freaking out!! After a lengthy talk with her, things calmed down and she promised her mama from then on she would go on the potty and get “M E M’s” (M&M’s), and she has held true to her promise!!
So my vacation has been interesting to say the least...and with her beastly moments escalating, i thought it was only right to capture the sweet stolen moments of love and laughter!! In the immortal words of Timon to Pumba, “IT Sssstarts!”.

Have a fun faux friday!!!
