La carretera es sinuosa y está flanqueada por una densa vegetación, el pesado Plymouth avanza ronroneando al ritmo de su corazón transplantado de un Volga ruso. Charlamos casi a los gritos para que nuestras palabras se abran paso en el viento que irrumpe por la ventana abierta. Entre las conversaciones triviales, se desliza cierta apatía hacia el estado actual de las cosas, motivada por la falta de oportunidades y el hastío del encierro en la isla. A pesar de los innegables logros de más de medio siglo de revolución, hoy Cuba se encuentra ante más preguntas que respuestas, y busca nuevamente al "Nuevo Hombre" del Che, un poco desdibujado desde aquellos días de utopía de finales de los 50.

The winding road is flanked with dense vegetation, the hefty Plymouth pushes forward following the rythm of its heart, transplanted from a russian Volga. Almost screaming so that our voices cut through the wind coming in through the open windows, the small talk leaks a certain apathy for the current state of affairs and the weariness of being trapped into the island. Despite the unquestionable achievements of more than half a century of revolution, today Cuba faces more questions than answers, and looks again for Che's "New Man", a bit blurred from those days of utopy at the end of the 50s.
